My happy little Rainbow 30’s Reproduction Tumbler Quilt is complete! Whew…. that was a mouth full!
30's Reproduction Tumbler Quilt Finishing Details
I have to say, I went back and forth trying to decide which fabric to use for the binding. Choosing the binding is my nemesis. So much work goes into making the quilt and the binding frames it.
I always think, I don’t want to get it wrong, but really there is no wrong. It’s your quilt, chose whatever fabric makes you happy. For this quilt I chose solid soft yellow, which would keep it simple and accent the quilt nicely.
Like my last tumbler quilt, I stitched a 1/4 an inch above and below each horizontal seam and through the middle of each of the tumblers.
The finished size is 36″ by 48″. A perfect size for a little one.
The backing blends well with theme. The fabric is Lots of Dots by Karen Stephens. This fabric is so sweet and fun and is a simple backing for this quilt.
I am really enjoying blogging and getting to know so many quilters. I want to thank everyone for all the friendly and welcoming comments. Everyone has been so nice and supportive!
You can find the post on assembling this quilt here: Sweet Rainbow Tumbler Quilt with 30’s Reproduction Fabric.
Love it! It's so pretty! I just finished my first quilt. I still have a lot to learn! But I am celebrating by hosting a quilt linky party, so feel free to link up and spread the word!
Thank you! For the beach quilt I used the tumbler template with the Accuquilt Go Baby. For the 30's Reproduction, I just used a template that I have had for a long time. I found it in some of my files when I was going through them. There are many templates online as well.
So pretty! My mom is the quilter in my family, I just don't have the patience, but I do know how to appreciate great work and this quilt is awesome. Thanks so much for sharing at Etcetorize! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your projects~
I love the quilts! I'm so glad you joined in the bloglovin blog hop. I can't seem to find your bloglovin button so I can follow you with bloglovin. If you haven't added it the instructions on how to do it are with the hop. Let me know when you do because your site is fabulous and I'd love to follow you.
Oh that turned out so pretty! Love the colors. I wish I wasn't such a foul weather quilter. I just have a hard time sitting still with it unless the weather is bad (usually cold). Yours really tempts me to try it in fair weather too. Debbie
Love your project so much that I'll be featuring it at tonight's Make it Great party. I hope you'll stop by to grab a featured button from the sidebar and to link up again. Have a great week!
Your quilt is gorgeous! I have a good collection of 30's fabrics so may have to copy you….your beachy tumbler quilt is awesome as well. Congrats on starting a blog….it's going to be a good one, I can tell. I found you through Sew Many Ways today. I'm going to sign up as a follower. Keep on going!!
What a beautiful quilt! I LOVE the fabrics and the vintage look. You have also inspired me to make a few mug rugs. How fun. I have just recently started quilting and am working on my very first full sized quilt! Eeek! Come check it out on my blog sometime! Thanks for the inspiration!
This is truly one of the prettiest little quilts I've ever seen using 30's repros. I just love it! I love using repro's but I have never done the "rainbow" effect in a quilt – you've inspired me!

Do you know how bad I want to make a tumbler quilt, now. I just love both of your latest ones.
I vote no cursive, or a bigger cursive font. It's too hard for me to read the other comments, which I enjoy doing!
