Super Easy Red and White Quilted Pillow Covers
These red and white quilted pillow covers are a super simple project and are so fast to make. They are also a great project to use up your fabric scraps. Aren’t we always looking for a way to make the stash smaller?
I was following a 4 year old’s instructions when I picked the colors for the pillow covers.
My instructions were: Lightning McQueen colors, but I couldn’t use any colors other than red and white and no Lightning McQueen fabric. How’s that for specific?
His favorite colors are red and green, so he chose green for the back.
The quilt on the bed is the I spy quilt I made a couple of months ago. If you missed it, you can read about it here.
These red and white quilted pillow covers were quick and simple to make. I loved sorting through my red and white fabrics. My son’s favorite fabrics are the red and white chevron fabric (Remix Zig Zags by Ann Kelle for Robert Kaufman in Red) and the solid green on the back. His room is very colorful with a lot of red accents, so these fit right in.
I am going to make a tutorial to make these pillow covers and I will share it here.
Apollo stayed with me while I fixed up the pillows and snapped a few pictures. I think the lizard outside on the window sill was more interesting than what I was up to.
Happy Sewing,
Candace

So cute!! I love the red and white and I especially like the eye spy quilt. Great job!! I really enjoy making stuff for my kids and it's great to include them by letting them pick out the fabric. My kids and I enjoy our time at the craft/fabric shops we frequent. We all get to be creative. I think that's such a gift!! Thanks for sharing!!

Very pretty and I love that your son was part creative director. The I spy quilt is a great piece. I just finished a quilt from a few years ago for my now 13 year old son. He picked the fabric and insisted I 'didn't cut it up too much'. He may be almost 6 feet tall and a bit too old for the patterns now, but he loves that it is finally finished.

Darling pillows! I love them. It's good that your son has an opinion and isn't afraid to say what he wants. And you're a good mama to oblige him, too.
