Tea Time, Fabric and Jalapeño Jelly
Yesterday I had a lovely time enjoying afternoon tea and mimosas in a sweet little tea house with friends and family. It was so nice to enjoy an afternoon of relaxation, beautiful weather, good company and delicious treats. (If you missed my previous post, which explains this story further, check out this link: Mug Rugs: First 3 of 9)
Afterwards we went shopping at fun little shops in a historical district of a quaint little town. One of my purchases was Jalapeño Pepper Jelly. If you have never had it, you should try it. I was surprised how delicious it is and I love the mixture of sweet and spicy. This would be amazing served with biscuits, which I am planning to have for breakfast one day this week. On a side note, isn’t the green so bright and pretty?
I found a quilt fabric store located in an old southern style home and had to check it out. Who can pass up a fabric store? This girl can’t! The shop didn’t look that big, but the rooms just kept going on and on and on and each were full of bolts of beautiful quilt fabric.
Here are the new fabrics I acquired for my stash:
Mama Said Sew by Sweetwater for Moda
I have been bitten by the “words/text fabric” bug. I am obsessed with it and was excited to find some in the shop. The other non-text fabrics from the Mama Said Sew collection are geometric prints, which is another one of my obsessions.
Ooh La La by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda
I am in love with the Ooh La La French Words fabric. I am preferential to cursive text and this fabric is so pretty with it’s large, elegant and scrolling print and soft colors. Also the little spoons tied with ribbon are so pretty. LOVE!
I can’t wait to use these new fabrics, but it is going to be awhile. I already have my next few projects planned and these won’t be in them. I will just have to set them out so I can look at them until I can use them. These text fabrics are definitely the beginning of an addiction!
Happy Sewing!
