I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas and enjoying the holidays… and have enough time to get in some Christmas sewing.
This time of year can be so crazy and I try to soak it all in and enjoy it. Christmas Eve evening is probably my favorite time during the Christmas season because everything settles down and it is so quiet and peaceful. It is when I get to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
Many of you know that I moved earlier this year and this is my first Christmas to experience single digit or negative temperatures and snow and ice.
Many of you live in places that get much colder, but it has been quite an adjustment for this beach girl. I have always lived near the gulf coast where it barely goes below freezing. Not the case in my new home.
Several weeks ago we received several inches of snow, which was something definitely new!
It was so peaceful, beautiful and cold. I had fun outside, taking pictures and playing in the snow.
A week later we received several inches of ice. Another first. Thankfully we didn’t lose power and the roads were clear, which means no cabin fever.
I have been keeping myself busy with quite a few Christmas sewing projects for presents. My sewing machine and projects took over my dining room.
If you look closely you can barely see my Reversible Table Runner with the Christmas theme under all that mess, but it looked really good in my dining room before the sewing machine moved in.
You can find a post about the blue, green, and yellow tumbler quilt here: …
and a post about the dresden bag here…
and a post about the small project stacked on the other side of my sewing machine here…
I have also shared many pics of my holiday season on Instagram and here is a collage of some of them.
I hope you all are enjoying the last few days of the year. Here’s to the new year, may it be a wonderful, prosperous year full of joy and lots of sewing!
Lovely photos and projects! Living in snow would be a huge adjustment for me but sometimes I think it would be a nice change from hardly any seasons at all!
