2 Easy Sewing Bags That Make Great Gifts

These 2 easy sewing bags are quick to sew, fun to make and are great to give as gifts.

Both of these patterns are free.  I picked these two patterns to make some of my Christmas presents, but are great for year round gift giving.

Jeni Baker's Drawstring Bag
Easy Sewing Bags with Lady Bugs

This pattern is Jeni Baker’s drawstring bag from In Color Order. It is such a wonderful pattern!  She makes it so easy, you can whip up a handful of these in no time.

The most time consuming part of the project is deciding on which fabrics to use.

I made these drawstring bags for my kiddos.  They are always playing with matchbox cars and small trains and they like to take them everywhere they go.

These easy sewing bags are the perfect size for their little hands and a great way to help them keep up with their small toys.

After Christmas we went on a long trip to visit family and they loved to take their little bag along to carry their belongings.

Gathered Clutch

Gathered Clutch by Anna over at Noodlehead is another fun sewing project that I made for my sister.

Gathered Clutch

I made her a larger duffle bag out of these fabrics a couple of years ago and decided she needed a little clutch to go with it.  I love using these zippers made with the gold metal.  They add a little shiny to this zipper bag.

This is a great pattern to make when you need a number of easy sewing bags.  If you need to make several for teacher gifts or a sewing meet favors, you can quickly batch sew them and you will have them completed in no time.

Here are other projects I made for Christmas gifts:

Sporty Zipper Bags – For my sister
Hexagon Zipper Bag – For my grandmother

Fabric Basket – For my grandmother

Before we know it, it will be time to start sewing for Christmas gifts again.  I plan on starting in the summer!

Happy Sewing!
