Colorful and Scrappy Economy Quilt Blocks
Economy Quilt Blocks Here is an update on the progress of my Economy Quilt Blocks. Β It looks like I have quite a collection going. The plan is to make a large throw size requiring approximately 200 blocks and each block is a 5″ square. Β Yes, 200 sounds like a lot, but it’s a fun project when it is broken up into batches. Working on this project in batches makes the process less overwhelming. Β They are simple to put together, but can be time consuming depending on how many you want to make. It is more about the fabric play when you work on a batch here and there. Economy Quilt…

Create Colorful Economy Quilt Blocks with Your Fabric Scraps
Economy Quilt Blocks I have been sewing away on my Economy Quilt Blocks and I have to share them with you. Β When I am finished you are definitely going to get your fill of them. Β I am making a large throw sized quilt and am going to need over 200 blocks. Β I organized these scrappy Economy Quilt Blocks by corresponding colors. The green ribbon flower fabric by Denyse Schmidt is one of my all time favorite fabrics. Β It is hard to use it, but I love it when I do. 5 Lessons I Learned from My Crazy Quilting Temper Tantrum Moments
My Quilting Temper Tantrum I usually enjoy quilting, but every now and then I have my moments. Now I can honestly say that these moments are self induced. Β I bring it on myself. Yes, I am going to share a lesson I learned when I had a couple of my quilting temper tantrum moments. Over a year ago I was making a quilt with these lovely Kona Cotton fabrics by Robert Kaufman. I had decided to make the quilt to enter into a show and I only had a short period of time to complete it. Β I had been dreaming of this quilt for some time, so I had high…

Festive Fireworks Quilt Blocks
3 Fireworks Quilt Block In honor of the 4th of July, I came up with a Fireworks Quilt Block. Β I used paper piecing to make each of the stars. Β This was my first attempt at paper piecing and I have to say, I loved it! Β It really helps everything line up neatly. Β It is a bit of a mind puzzle though, definitely a different way to think about sewing the pieces together.Β Β The background is Robert Kaufman Kona cotton in charcoal. Β The stripe fabric is from Robert Kaufman’s Pimatex Basics collection in red stripe. I love stripes!Β Β The quilt in this picture is one that I am hand quilting for my husband.…
