Blogger’s Quilt Festival
I am so excited to get to participate in the Blogger’s Quilt Festival this year, hosted by Amy at Amy’s Creative Side. A big thank you to Amy for putting it all together! The quilt I am entering is my Rose Quilt. I absolutely love this quilt. I love roses and grow several antique varieties (one of which you can view in the collage at the end of this post).I ordered a yard or two of Sugar Hill Falling Roses in white/pink and when I received it in the mail, I fell in love! The Rose Quilt is Complete!! Wahoo!
The Rose Quilt is finished. I love the colors in this quilt and it was so much fun to make. It consists of roses fussy cut into squares and rectangles in three different lengths. The final dimensions are 62″ by 73″. See a previous post for a list of the fabrics used. The colors and fabrics were calling my name to make a summer quilt. The back is made of 12″ by…

I am so excited to see this all together. I have decided on the fabric to use for the binding, which is usually a hard decision for me, but this time it came easy.So now all I have to do is get busy stitching… In the meantime, I…

Rose Quilt Update…
The quilt top for the rose quilt is finished. The size is approximately 63″ by 68″. I decided to make it with a type of brick pattern, but with three different lengths (6″, 9″, and 12″). I designed the quilt around the rose fabric, Sugar Hill Falling Roses White/Pink by Tanya Whelan for Free Spirit. I fussy cut the roses and threw them in among the strips of fabric. For a list of all the fabrics used, check out a previous post here. It took me awhile to complete this top. Laying out the pieces took almost as long as sewing it all together. I would lay out several rows at…
