Antique Roses in Texas I am crazy about antique roses and one of my favorite places to purchase them is the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas. (This is not a paid advertisement, I just really love it). It is 8 acres of display gardens and beautiful lawns. You can bring a picnic lunch and spend the day there. You can even get married there. They have so many beautiful roses and each one has a story. You can find their catalogue online or you can pick one up when you visit. The Texas Sized Round Top Antique Fair
This Sunday my family and I had a blast at Round Top, TX. Round Top is a little town halfway between Houston and Austin with a population of around 100 people (the sign states 90 to be exact). The scenery is beautiful and you will find yourself surrounded by large old live oak trees, old homesteads, very quiet country, and endless cow pastures. Every April and October there is a massive antique show that is not only in Round Top, but also extends to the neighboring small towns: Warrenton, Carmine and Shelby. Trip to Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City in the Summer My family and I just got back from a fun little trip to Oklahoma City. It is a quiet city with a lot of beautiful historical and modern features. I couldn’t get over how quiet it was. When I think “city” I think of places like Houston, with people and interstates coming and going everywhere. Houston is never quiet. I am used to hot temperatures and prefer hot over cold, but let me tell you it was hot with a capital H. Temperatures reached as high as 113 degrees fahrenheit. Even the wind was hot.
